September 22, 2025 – BSTU welcomed a delegation of Kazan Federal University represented by KFU Rector Lenar Safin and Vice-Rector for External Relations Timirkhan Alishev. The busy agenda of the visit included visits to key research centres, student and research laboratories as well as talks with the BSTU senior management.

During the talks the parties focused on the issues of the Union State Network University of High Technology (US NUHT) to be developed as an association of universities and research institutes of Russia and Belarus. The large-scale project aims at consolidating educational and research efforts of leading universities and research centres of Russia and Belarus in order to foster training of highly-qualified professionals for high-tech industries.

The talks wrapped up with signing of the US NUHT Consortium Agreement which lays down the legal framework for further integration of curricula, research and capacities of the two universities.
The Consortium Agreement defines the following main objectives:
- joint running of educational programmes;
- fostering of joint fundamental and applied research to achieve technological leadership in key science and technology sectors and to ensure security and sustainable development of the Union State;
- development of model framework for joint educational programmes;
- creation of mechanisms enabling the academic mobility of students and academic staff.

The parties also signed an Academic Mobility Agreement which opens up ample opportunities for BSTU and KFU students to do a semester, have practical training or join research projects in the partnering university.

The KFU delegation also paid a visit to Negoreloe Forestry Experimental Station where they got familiar with unique training and production facilities and discussed possible joint projects in the field of biotechnology and environmental management.
